Pixlr-O-Matic for Android is a fantastic photo processing app, which offers over 25,000 different finishes for any one image! It is created by Autodesk,
SketchBook Mobile Express and
AutoCAD WS are also from this top developer.
Brief
With this fun and simple darkroom app, you can layer filters, lighting and borders to get that retro grunge look in three simple steps.
User Interface
What's best about the app is the interface, which lets you quickly apply what you want, see the end result, and then share or save your final photo. The Android app is the only version that can connect to messaging services on your Android device such as Skype or IM.
Images can also be saved to your SD card at resolutions up to 2,000x1,000 pixels, and they're stored with the names of filters you've used.
Operative Skills
Various color filters can be added, each with their own memorable name to consult again at a later date. Some offer black and white or sepia effects while others brighten the image more so truly transforming the photo’s appearance.
Lighting effects can be added then adding anything from rainbow style effects to strobe lighting or my favorite, a rain style effect. Finally, to round things off a border or frame can be added to images before completion.
Nice Tips
You can only apply one filter, lighting effect, and frame at a time, and you can't increase or decrease the effect. The only way to apply additional filters is to save out and reopen the photo.
Final Thoughts
All in all, Pixlr-o-matic is worth the free download. Besides nice effects, endless options and wonderful frames, it runs fast and smoothly on my android phone. Why not have a try?
